Tips to Freshen up Your Workouts

Now that the summer months are on the horizon and the winter months are in the rearview mirror, you can start to freshen up your workouts with a sense of renewal in mind.

 It is always good to be adding and adapting your goals on a monthly basis all year so that you are constantly staying motivated. The spring time is a perfect time to reflect on your past accomplishments and then use that to plan ahead for your next successes. Whether you treat it as a recharge, refocus or just a simple freshening up of a current routine, you will find great benefit to giving your current fitness routine an overhaul (minor or major). 

Here are tips to ensure success when you plan to freshen up your workouts:

💪 Make your goals realistic and within a time frame of 4-6 weeks.

💪 Plan outdoor activities with friends and family to not only improve your physical health, but also your social and mental health.

💪 Try activities that you have never done before or have always wanted to do. This helps to keep you motivated and gives you some active rest (gives you a mental break from your regular routine but is still physically active and beneficial).

💪 Explore new recipes for your meals so that you can continue to make healthy food choices while not getting bored of the same meals over and over. This will increase the likelihood of success and reduce the possibility of falling off the healthy food wagon. Remember food is the life force of any positive health change in your routine.

💪 Switch up the order of your exercises (least favourite to most favourite, use dumbbells instead of barbells, cables instead of machines etc).

💪 Embrace the weather and get outside to do your workouts or to try a new and fun activity.
